If you want a smartphone that lets you make the most of excellent tech, but doesn’t necessarily feature the all singing, all dancing and sometimes expensive whistles and bells of the very latest tech, then the iPhone 6s is for you.
Using Apple’s iconic iOS operating system, the 6s has the same key features as Apple’s more affordable iPhone SE, but with a larger, better quality screen.
The 6s has an A9 chip, a 12MP camera and a M9 motion coprocessor, making it more than capable of helping you navigate your day-to-day with ease.
iPhone 6s Key Features.
The main thing that stands out about the iPhone 6s is its design. It’s sleek, sits nicely in your palm and even though it’s not the latest model from the tech giant, it’s certainly stylish.
The screen size (4.7 inches), makes browsing the internet, editing photos from the phone’s 12MP camera or streaming videos easy (the screen is the same size as that of the iPhone 8).
You can take 4K videos with this model too, as well as make the most of Apple’s key features such as FaceTime, Apple Pay, and the fingerprint scanner for quick and simple access to your phone.
iPhone 6s Camera.
The iPhone 6s has a 12MP camera, and 4K video shooting capabilities. It has a true tone flash, burst mode, panorama shooting and so much more, meaning you can shoot and edit to your heart’s content.
You can shoot in slo-mo, take live photos, and also make use of the 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and FaceTime.
Switching to the iPhone 6s.
Moving from a previous Apple iPhone model to the iPhone 6s is really simple. All you need to do is make sure you’ve backed up all your information to iCloud, and sign in on your new device using your iCloud log in details.
If you’re moving to Apple from an Android phone, the process is slightly different, but equally as simple. Apple has created an app called Move to iOS that makes the whole transferring process quick and easy. Simply download the app from Google Play on your Android device, and follow the instructions to make sure you can continue using all your information as normal on your new Apple phone.
If you’re moving from a Windows Phone to the iPhone 6s, first make sure everything on your Windows Phone is backed up, whether that’s to your chosen email account, or to online storage services like Dropbox. You can then download all these apps on your new iPhone, sign in, and access all your previous data as usual.
Alternative models to the iPhone 6s.
If you love the sound of the iPhone 6s’ features and specifications, but you’re not sure you want to spend that much on a phone, Apples does have an equally as desirable but slightly more affordable alternative.
Providing you’re willing to compromise on screen size, the iPhone SE is a cheaper option, with exactly the same spec as the iPhone 6s (just with a 0.7-inch smaller screen).
On the other hand, if you like the sound of the 6s but want a little more from your smartphone, you can opt for the iPhone 6s Plus, which gives you a 5.5-inch screen, optical image stabilisation for photos and videos and a longer battery life, or step up one model higher and with the iPhone 7. Even more impressive than the 6s, the iPhone 7 enjoys a faster processor, water and dust resistance and an A10 fusion chip.
