Why do I need to give my details for a credit check?
We have to carry out a credit check every time one of our customers signs up to a pay monthly mobile phone contract or credit agreement. This helps protect you from identity fraud and stops you from running up bills you can't pay.
What happens when you credit check me?
We use a Credit Reference Agency to obtain information relating to your address, identity and personal credit history. They then assess this information against their own set criteria, and the order is accepted provided they are satisfied it meets their minimum threshold.
To decide whether we can let you sign up to one of our deals, they look at information from:
The electoral roll.
Court records such as CCJs (county court judgements) and bankruptcies but not criminal convictions.
Your financial history - all your dealings with banks, building societies and other lenders.
If I pass the credit check, what will then happen to my order? How do I know that I've passed the check?
If you pass the credit check, your order will be processed automatically. You'll receive a confirmation email with details of your order despatch, or expected delivery.
What would happen if I fail the credit check? Can I buy something else?
For online orders, we'll send you an email if your application has been declined.
If you have an order turned down due to a credit check, we advise you not to try to place another order, as putting through more than one check in a short space of time can harm your credit rating.
Do you take any money from me whilst you're doing the credit check?
No, we'll only take a payment after you've passed the credit check.
How quickly will I receive my order?
If you order a phone or tablet before 5pm Monday-Thursday, you'll get FREE next day delivery from the DPD (UK) express parcel delivery service where possible.
If you order after 5pm, DPD will process your delivery the next working day. So if you order after 5pm on Friday it'll be processed on Monday and you'll receive it on Tuesday.
All SIM only or Data SIM orders will be delivered by Royal Mail and usually arrive within 2-3 business days.
Can I have my order delivered to my work or any address other than my home address?
No, sorry. We need to deliver your order to your billing address. This is for security purposes, and so that we can be sure you are who you say you are.
Can I get next day delivery?
Yes, if you order a phone or tablet Monday-Thursday before 5pm.
Is delivery free?
Yes, delivery is free for all SIM Only, Data SIM, phones and tablets.
