iD Mobile chatbot Terms and Conditions

Introduction

The chatbot is a service provided by iD Mobile, a trading name of Currys Group Limited ("iD Mobile", "we", "us", "our"). By using the chatbot, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions ("Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the chatbot.

About the chatbot

The chatbot is an AI-powered conversational agent. Its intended use is to respond to common queries that you may have regarding your iD Mobile purchase or account. We provide the chatbot free of charge and it is for information purposes only.

Using the chatbot

You may use the chatbot for your personal and domestic (i.e. non-commercial) use only. The chatbot is intended for use within the UK or abroad whilst using your iD Mobile plan in that country only. We hope you find the chatbot easy to use, but if you have difficulties using it, you can find alternative ways to contact us using the details on our Help & Support page.

You agree to use the chatbot in a way that complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

You must not misuse the chatbot, for example by attempting to:

  • Damage, disable or impair the functionality of the chatbot;
  • Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful into the systems servicing the chatbot or seek to extract data from or otherwise gain access to those systems;
  • Generate data to improve or train a similar or competing product or service; or
  • Generate inappropriate, offensive, defamatory or harmful responses or responses which may cause us reputational harm.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove your access to the chatbot at any time at our sole discretion. We do not guarantee that the chatbot will be available at all times or that your use of the chatbot will be uninterrupted.

AI technology and accuracy

The chatbot is powered by generative AI technology provided by a third party (Microsoft Azure). Although we try to make sure that responses are relevant, accurate and unbiased, we cannot guarantee this will always be the case because of the way generative AI works.

By using the chatbot, you do so at your own risk and acknowledge and understand that responses may not always be accurate or complete.

If you believe that any responses from the chatbot contain content which is offensive, inappropriate, defamatory or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, please let us know straight away by using the contact details on our Help & Support page.

Your privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. To access the chatbot you will be asked to provide your name and iD telephone number. Once in the chat, if we need to verify whether you are a known customer, the chatbot will ask you for basic information only via a secure form (for example, customer service pin, address, postcode, last bill amount). You will not be asked to provide personal data outside of a secure form and please do not share personal data outside of these forms. You will not be asked to provide any sensitive data, such as passwords or bank / credit card details and you should not enter any sensitive data into the chat.

Our use of your personal data is governed by iD Mobile's Privacy Policy.

Ownership and intellectual property

We (and where applicable, our licensors) own all of the intellectual property rights in all of the information or materials submitted to, accessible from, generated by or comprised in the chatbot and the systems servicing it. This includes, but is not limited to, all copyright, trademarks, domain names, design rights, database rights, patents and all other intellectual property rights of any kind, whether registered or unregistered anywhere in the world.

Other than your personal data (our use of which is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable laws), we may use the chatbot content (including all inputs and outputs) on an unrestricted and free-of-charge basis as we reasonably see fit.

We grant you a non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the chatbot for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided you comply with these Terms. Our trademark, or the trademarks of others may appear during the use of the chatbot, and you are not permitted to use this content unless you have our prior written permission.

Liability

The chatbot is a free service and used at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the chatbot, and any liability we do have is limited to £500. Nothing in these Terms exclude liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

General

These Terms shall be governed by English law and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are a resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland. No one other than you or us has any right to enforce these Terms.

We may vary or update these Terms from time to time and your continued use of the chatbot after any changes signifies your acceptance of the revised terms. You should check these Terms from time to time in case there have been changes to them.
