Let’s get the nation talking again!

Britain’s gone quiet. Let’s change that.

Phone calls are on the decline, with 51% of Brits even feeling anxious about making them. But research shows that phone calls are proven to lower stress, boost mood, and build stronger connections.

So, this Mental Health Awareness Week, we’ve teamed up with Mental Health UK to get the nation reconnecting through the power of voice...

Did you know...

51& of Brits feel anxious about makeing or taking phone calls; 57% of Brits admit they've sent a text when a call would've been better; 79% of Brits say a good call boosts mental wellbeing

Show your support - #MakeItACall

We’re asking the nation to do one simple thing. Swap a text for a call. To get involved all you need to do is:

  • Snap a photo or record yourself holding up the 'Make It a Call' hand sign
  • Post it to your Instagram story using #MakeItACall, tag @idmobileuk and the person you pledge to call

Simple!

Support a great cause!

As part of our ‘Make it a Call’ campaign, we'll be making a financial contribution to Mental Health UK, which helps fund:

  • Advice and information services via phone, web-chat and online resources
  • Local community support groups for open, peer-to-peer connection
  • Specialist one-to-one guidance for mental health and financial wellbeing
  • Programmes for young people (14–18), including Bloom, Your Resilience and Me & Money

Why mental health is important to us.

“Keeping you connected is what
we do best at iD Mobile. But we know that means more than just signal and data. We’re on our phones more than ever, yet many of us are missing out on the deeper connection that comes from a real conversation.

Studies highlight the incredible impact hearing a voice can have on our mental health, so we’re inviting you to 'Make It a Call' instead of just sending a text. Alongside our friends and partners at Mental Health UK, we hope this campaign and long-term partnership can help us all feel a little more connected every day.”
