Pay Monthly Out-of-Plan Charges
If you have a pay monthly plan with iD Mobile and you go over your allowances, you could incur some extra charges. Here we explain what those charges will be. Remember, one simple way to avoid extra charges is to top up your data or minutes with an add-on.

Non-geographic calls
Non-geographic calls are those made to numbers starting 087, 084, 09 and 118. These numbers are usually used by banks, customer helplines, utility companies and government departments. You also call them when you vote on a TV show or enter a TV quiz, or get information and make payments for services.
Calls to non-geographic numbers are made up of two parts: an Access Charge and a Service Charge. The Access Charge is how much iD Mobile charges you for making the call. The current iD Mobile Access Charge is 45p, plus 45p per minute. The Service Charge is set by the organisation you're calling – it has nothing to do with iD Mobile. The organisation you're calling should have details of its Service Charge on its website, or they should make you aware of it before connecting your call.

MMS (Multimedia Message Service).
MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service. It makes it possible for you to send and receive messages containing pictures, photos, emojis, GIFs, videos and sound clips.
MMS messages aren’t included as part of your monthly text allowances, so every time you send one you’ll be charged at our out-of-plan MMS rate. This charge varies depending on when you joined us:

MMS messages have a size limit of 295kb per message. If your MMS image exceeds 295kb, you'll incur charges for multiple MMS messages.
For example, sending an MMS image of 1mb would result in charges of either £1.20/£2.20, depending on when you joined or upgraded.

Roaming charges.

If you joined or upgraded on or before 20th June 2023: When roaming in one of our free roaming destinations you can use your monthly allowances at no extra cost. If you exceed your monthly allowances, you’ll be charged at our out-of-bundle rate unless you purchase an add-on. |
If you joined or upgraded on or after 21st June 2023: When roaming in one of our free roaming destinations you can use your monthly allowances at no extra cost (up to 30GB). If you exceed this 30GB limit, you will incur a surcharge of £3 for every additional GB you use whilst abroad. |

Text or call shortcodes
Shortcodes are numbers that are shorter than regular phone numbers, the most common numbers are around 4-6 digits long, and they’re sometimes used by companies such charities, competition lines or other premium rate services.
Contacting some services via a shortcode is free but some can incur a charge, which can be costly if you’re not prepared.
You can find the charges you’ll incur when sending a text or calling a shortcode below – this does not include any additional charges you may incur if signing up to a service by contacting the company. Please check with the company you’re contacting beforehand to check if there will be any additional future charges.

Multimedia Message Service
An MMS lets you send and receive messages containing pictures, photos, emojis, GIFs, audio and video over text. It’s sent the same way as a normal text and can incur a charge if it’s not included in your allowance. Don’t forget, messages sent on iMessage and Whatsapp use your data allowance.

When you use your phone in one of our Inlusive Roaming destinations, your minutes, texts and data will come out of your plan’s allowances. Remember, if you’re about to go over your allowance, you can top up your data or minutes by buying an add-on. If you do exceed your allowance, then standard out-of-plan charges apply.
