  • What is an iD pay monthly SIM only plan?
    Our pay monthly SIM only plans work in almost the same way as our plans with phones. The only difference is that you don't get a phone as part of the deal. You simply get a new SIM card with a monthly allowance of minutes, texts and data.
  • What are the benefits of SIM only?
    SIM only plans are perfect if you've already got a phone you're happy with. And they're great if you want to cut down on your mobile spend, because going SIM only usually works out cheaper than buying a plan with a phone.
    If you've got your eye on a new phone that hasn't been released yet, going for a 30-day iD SIM only plan could make perfect sense. You can keep it rolling month-by-month, and end it as soon as your new smartphone becomes available.
  • What length of iD SIM only plan is best for me?
    We currently offer 30-day or 12-month SIM only plans.
    Our 30-day SIM only plans give you unbeatable freedom and flexibility. You can keep them rolling each month, or you can just as easily choose a different plan if your needs change.
    We also offer 12-month SIM only TakeAway plans. These are perfect for anyone that regularly travels abroad for work or leisure, because they let you roam at no extra cost in 29 countries.   • Can I use my SIM only plan abroad?
    You can use any iD SIM only plan abroad. The cost depends on the type of plan.
    If you've got a GoTo or ShockProof SIM only plan, take a look at our roaming call charges to see how much it'll cost you.
    If you've got a 12-month SIM only Takeaway plan, you'll be able to roam at no extra cost in these 29 countries abroad. So your data usage, and calls and texts to the UK, will come out of your normal monthly allowance. However, if you use your phone in a non-TakeAway country, our roaming rate will apply.
  • Is it easy to change my SIM only plan to a different one?
    Absolutely. Once you've been with us for a month, you can quickly and easily change to another SIM only plan.
  • What if I run out of minutes, texts or data?
    If you run out of an allowance, you can still keep using it (for example, if you run out of texts you can keep sending text messages), but you'll be charged at out of bundle rates. These can be quite high, which is why we give you the option of buying add-ons of minutes, texts and data.
    Buying an add-on will prevent you from racking up additional out of bundle charges. Add-ons last 30 days, so if you're running low on any of your allowances - or if you've already run out - it could be worth investing in one.
    Please note: add-ons can't be backdated to cover your past usage. They come into effect when they're purchased, and never before.
  • Can I keep my number?
    Yes. It's simple to keep your old mobile number when you sign up to an iD SIM only plan. We've created a simple step-by-step guide that you can view on our 'Keep your number' page.
  • What is the signal like in my area?
    We'll always try to make sure you have the best possible coverage to keep you conntected, wherever you are. Use our coverage checker to see what the signal's like in your area.
  • What size of SIM card do I need?
    Your iD SIM card is 'one size fits all', so you don't have to worry about ordering the correct size. The card you receive contains all three SIM types (standard, micro and nano), and you just need to snap it into the size you need.
