Nice looking handset.Easu to use
The headphone jack simply did not work. Tried to fix it with Sony Companion. No good. Online forums show this is a known fault experienced by many users. I returned the handset ad it was indeed "faulty". I have had six Sony handsets but this will be my last.

Overview of the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact.

If you're after a smaller handset as your next smartphone, consider the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. Under the hood it's very similar to the larger Sony Xperia XZ1, but on the outside you'll find a handy 4.6-inch HD display that uses Sony's X-Reality technology for the clearest possible picture.

The screen of the XZ1 Compact is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass too, and the handset has an IP65/68 rating making it dust and water resistant. You'll find Android Oreo on board too, and plenty of other amazing features. It's a fantastic mid-range device, especially if you're a Sony fan.

Key Features.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact weighs just 143g, so it's sure to feel light in the hand. Paired with its sleek yet sturdy metallic design, you're looking at one well-rounded phone.

The XZ1 Compact has the same 2,700 mAh battery as the XZ1 too, and thanks to Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 you can power up in minutes. You'll also find 32GB of memory, which you'll need if you take advantage of Sony's 3D Creator. Use the XZ1 Compact's amazing camera to take 3D memories - you can create 3D avatars of both objects and people in seconds to use across social media.

Camera.

Just like the majority of Sony smartphones, you'll find two incredible cameras to play with. The rear camera measures 19MP and uses Sony's MotionEye technology to deliver the best shots. Predictive capture will ensure you can look back on the moments that occur before you press the shutter button, while super slow mo helps you to admire the world in even more detail.

Expect nothing less than high-quality selfies too, thanks to the 8MP wide-angle camera on the XZ1 Compact.

Switching to this phone.

Can't wait to start using the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact? Make sure you transfer all your files and photos over from your old device first.

Currently using an iPhone or Windows Phone? The easiest way to transfer your stuff over to the XZ1 Compact is to download Google Drive. Log in with your Google account, tap Menu > Settings > Backup then choose what files you'd like to save. Once the backup is complete, you'll find everything waiting for you by accessing Drive on the XZ1 Compact.

Android lover? The process is even easier. Open up Settings > Backup on your old phone, wait until complete then log into the XZ1 Compact using the same Google account to automatically begin downloading.

Alternative models.

Prefer a larger display on your smartphone? Choose the Sony Xperia XZ1 instead. Its Full HD display measures 5.2-inches, and it uses the same technology that's found on Sony's amazing BRAVIA TVs. There's a 13MP front-facing camera too, alongside the 19MP rear camera, and high-quality audio.

If you'd prefer something with a lower price point, the Sony Xperia L1 is a great alternative. You'll get a big 5.5-inch screen, 2GB RAM and a 13MP rear camera to explore.

Ready to upgrade? Whether you've fallen in love with the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact or you'd prefer a different Sony handset, you're sure to find a great deal online at iD Mobile.
