Overview of the iPhone 7.
You might not know at first glance, but improvements in the iPhone's chassis mean that the 7 is fully water-resistant, and you can drop the handset in shallow water with no ill effects whatsoever – a relief in a world where countless phones have been lost to slips and spills.
The iPhone 7 also features optical image stabilisation for outstandingly clear photographs, and a camera that performs better in low-light conditions than any of its predecessors. This phone heralded a new era in mobile photography, setting standards in the manner that Apple so often does.
A longer-lasting battery and a faster processor also set the iPhone 7 apart from the 6S, and the switch from a physical home button to a sensor that provides haptic feedback gives this device a futuristic feel.
One significant, visible change that Apple made when creating the iPhone 7 is the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack, with the manufacturer providing a lightning port along with Bluetooth headphone connectivity for this and all future iPhones.
iPhone 7 Camera.
Apple's commitment to improving iPhone camera technology is evidenced in the 7, which comes equipped with a fast f/1.8 lens, wider colour aperture, optical image stabilisation and a new four-colour True Tone flash.
A faster lens means higher quality images when using your phone's camera in low-light conditions, and the iPhone 7's lens gives your photographs much more vibrant colours. The front-facing camera is a seven-megapixel sensor accompanied by a Retina Flash and it produces bright, sharp images even when taking close-up selfies.
Videos can be recorded in dazzling 4K at 30 frames-per-second on the iPhone 7, while 1080p HD videos can be captured at twice that frame rate. The camera on your iPhone 7 uses optical image stabilisation to improve the quality of your videos, and you can even take time-lapse clips with continuous autofocus.
iPhone 7 Design.
As aforementioned, design changes in the iPhone 7 include a new, water-resistant chassis and the absence of a headphone jack – the beginning of Apple’s continued trend. It also changed it signature home button to a sunken, unclickable feature that responds to touch, rather than being physically pressed in.
Aside from that, the iPhone 7 is mostly similar to the iconic 6 – its smooth, rounded edges and metallic backing keeps with the crisp, stylish look.
iPhone 7 Display.
The iPhone 7 has a stunningly detailed, bright LCD display that offers more warmth than the screen on the iPhone 6 and 6S. It has a wider colour range that prompted major apps like Instagram to announce updates that would cater for the 7's extended range.
Using the display on the iPhone 7 is a unique experience, with the device's Taptic Engine providing feedback while you perform tasks, creating an enhanced sense of control.
iPhone 7 Battery.
Battery protection is a priority in the iPhone 7, which runs on IOS 10 – an intuitive operating system that runs more efficiently than its predecessors and enables the device to run for up to two hours longer than the iPhone 6. You can expect your iPhone 7 to run for a good 12 hours on a single charge thanks to its 1,960mAh cell size, even when using it regularly throughout the day.
The iPhone 7's A10 Fusion quad-core chip features separate processors for tasks that require varying degrees of power. This means the device can multitask or run several apps at once, but when your demands reduce it takes the heat off of your battery by using low-power cores. You’ll have no issues with tasks such as streaming, editing photos, gaming or browsing the web.
The iPhone 7 is a device that inspires creativity as much as it provides enjoyment and you can find a great deal on one here at iD Mobile.
