Buy a 24-month 2GB plan that has a ‘10GB extra data’ button in the plan details, and you get an extra 10GB Data Cushion.

If your monthly data allowance ever runs out, your Data Cushion starts getting used.

Data Cushion is valid for the duration of your plan. Monitor it with the iD Mobile app or My Account online.

What is a Data Cushion?

A Data Cushion is an extra 10GB pot of emergency data, valid for the entire 24 months of your plan. It kicks in automatically if you ever run out of your monthly data allowance.

When does my Data Cushion kick-in?

If you run out of your monthly data allowance, any further data usage will automatically come out of your 10GB Data Cushion.

How do I activate my Data Cushion?

Your 10GB Data Cushion is automatically applied to your plan, so you don’t need to activate it or take any action to use it.

How long is my Data Cushion valid for?

Your 10GB Data Cushion is valid for the entire 24 months of your plan, or until you use it all up.

What happens when my Data Cushion runs out?

If your 10GB Data Cushion runs out before your 24-month plan ends, your monthly data allowance won’t be affected. But after it runs out, you’ll have to pay standard out-of-bundle data charges if you exceed your monthly data allowance. Don’t forget, you can still buy a data add-on by logging into My Account online or the iD Mobile app.

How much of my Data Cushion do I have left?

You can check how much of your 10GB Data Cushion is remaining by logging into My Account online or the iD Mobile app. You’ll then see that your data doughnut includes your monthly data allowance and your 10GB Data Cushion as a combined total.

Your monthly data allowance is refreshed every month, but your Data Cushion never gets refreshed. So whenever you dip into your Data Cushion, you’ll see the decrease in your data doughnut on your dashboard!

What happens if I haven’t used all of my Data Cushion by the time it expires?

If you’ve got any data left in your Data Cushion at the end of your 24-month plan, it will simply disappear. Sorry, but you can’t do a data rollover, or claim a refund for any unused data.

If I’ve used up all my Data Cushion, can I buy another one?

No, sorry. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. You’ll still get your monthly data allowance as usual, and don’t forget that you can buy a data add-on by logging into My Account online or the iD Mobile app.

How can I get a Data Cushion?

Data Cushion is currently available on some of our 24-month 2GB plans with selected Samsung handsets. When you view a deal, look out for the 'Data Cushion' button under the minutes and text allowances.

Can I get a Data Cushion if I am already an iD customer?

Sorry, but you can’t get a Data Cushion if the plan you bought didn’t already include this feature.
