Good quality camera. Up to date features at a decent price.
Slightly too large. Poor default note app.

Overview of the Samsung Galaxy J3 2017.

Taking smartphone style and adding a whole lot of substance, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) is sleek and simple in appearance, but with a whole host of benefits inside.

Its main features are its 13MP rear camera and 2GB RAM, meaning it has the power to back up the handy features, so your day-to-day won’t be held back.

This model is also a great multitasker - you can make the most of Samsung’s dual messenger functionality, so you can log in to various platforms with two different accounts - that’s great news for those who need to check both their work and personal accounts on the go.

This Android phone is great for those who like to stay connected and keep a check on things on the go, but won’t find a use for the latest technological features on their smartphone.

    Key Features.

The Galaxy J3 is lightweight and sits nicely in the palm of your hand, all without being bulky or compromising on screen size - plus the camera sits flush against the back of the phone. Its screen is also 5 inches, which is slightly larger than, for example, the iPhone SE.

With this model, as with many other Samsung models, you can also make the most of the option to add additional storage - up to 256GB in fact - which is great news if you like to have all your files stored locally.

    Camera.

Yet another great feature about this model is its camera. It doesn’t stick out from the back of the phone at all, and features 13MP. It’s also great in low light conditions thanks to its f/1.9 lens.

The front camera features its own flash too, so you can take perfectly-lit selfies, and even take a photo with a simple hand gesture rather than tapping the screen.

    Switching to this phone.

If you’re already up and running with an Android phone, switching to the Galaxy J3 is simple. Make sure everything is backed up to your account, then just sign in using your Android information on your new device, and away you go.

If you’re moving over to Android from Apple, you’ll need to make sure you back everything up from your iPhone to Google Drive. Once you’ve done this, you can download Google Drive on your new phone and sign in to see all your files in one place.

Switching from a Windows phone should also be doable in the same way as switching from Apple. You should also be able to find the majority of the apps you currently use available for Android too.

    Alternative models.

If you’re looking for something with a little more technological panache, you might like to consider the Samsung Galaxy S7, S8 or even the S9. With some of the latest features going and hugely impressive screen quality to make the most of, you’re sure to find these models somewhat outstanding.

However, if you like the sound of the J3, but could use a slightly larger screen, and maybe a higher spec front-facing camera, the Samsung Galaxy J5 is a great choice. It has a 5.2-inch screen and two 13MP cameras.
